This Tarangire Day Safari is a perfect introduction to Tanzania’s Northern Circuit. Located just a 2–3 hour drive from Arusha or Kilimanjaro, Tarangire is a quieter park often overlooked but incredibly rewarding.
The park is renowned for its huge elephant herds, particularly during the dry season (Jul–Oct) when thousands gather near the Tarangire River. Its iconic baobab trees dot the landscape, creating one of the most photogenic scenes in East Africa.
Alongside elephants, you can expect to see giraffes, buffalo, wildebeest, zebras, lions, and leopards. Tarangire also offers exceptional birdwatching, with over 550 species recorded. Picnic lunch is enjoyed at a scenic spot within the park, keeping you immersed in wildlife.
Return to Arusha in the late afternoon, making this a compact but unforgettable safari.
Best Time to Visit: Year-round, but July–October offers the largest elephant concentrations.
